August, 2023
Before making their way down the winding footpath to the house, guests were welcomed by David Wade’s contagious smile as he tended his trusty, one-of-a-kind smoker. The scent of wood-fired meats and barbecue sauce hung in the air.
Down at the house, early arrivals were taking a dip in the peaceful pond, enjoying their first round of drinks, and beginning to get to know one another. As our guest list continues to expand, The Jim Haynes Project dinner series hosts more and more new faces. On this warm August evening, our dinner guests gathered on the deck and floating dock, turning strangers into familiar faces anticipating a delicious meal.
Once dinner was served, Chef Dave was happy to mingle and discuss his dishes. He shared with many the years-long history of the creation of his homemade, family-inspired barbecue sauce, which can only be found at WADE BBQ. He believes that barbecue is meant for everyone, from every walk of life. A belief shared by David and The Jim Haynes Project: food brings people together. With the hope of continuously providing delicious meals, David puts his heart and soul into every dish he makes.
By the end of the night, stomachs were full of mouthwatering ribs, chicken wings, baked beans, cornbread, and more. Many gladly took home leftovers.
